Amy+Becker on Health > Life expectancy at birth > male 1030 days 18 hours 31 minutes 15 seconds ago Edria, you said: "life expectancy for females is typically higher than that of males for discrepancies due to certain factors but often when all things are equal, males do die earlier. Unborn males die at almost twice the rate as unborn girls and newborn males have a higher death rate than newborn girls. I think the best reason for this was written about by Ashley Montagu who wrote "The Natural Superiority of Women" which shows that instead of being the superior gender as most males brag about, males as a whole are actually much weaker than women. It is this natural weakness which causes males to die sooner and it is our superiority as women which make us the stronger gender. Along with biological weakness, males also have a higher tendency for violence in which they most often kill other males thus reducing the male life expectancy even further.
