Kids on Crime > Total crimes 131 days 13 hours 19 minutes 9 seconds ago It would be nice to have this broken down by age. I am sure that you would find that if you wanted to find a criminal, you would find them faster if you looked for someone who hasn't gone through puberty yet. The more violent the crime, the more likely they are to have not gone through puberty but at least their victim will have not gone through puberty too. At least when children kill people, they usually kill other children. That would be fine with me if they would leave men and women alone.
WIlliam Konietzny on Crime > Total crimes 131 days 21 hours 39 minutes 7 seconds ago Alex is correct. These figures are NOT incidents per 100,000 citizens as some readers have stated despite the fact that the U.S. lists over 11 MILLION incidents which would equate to about every fourth citizen committing a violent crime! When you divide the incidents of violent crime by the population the list changes dramatically. In order of Highest to Lowest crime rate: 1:Columbia, 2:U.K., 3:Iceland, 4:Mexico, 5:Montserrat, 6:Sweden, 7:New Zealand, 8:Finland, 9:Belgium, 10:Denmark, 11:Netherlands, 12:Germany, 13:Canada, 14:Norway, 15:Austria, 16:France, 17:S.Africa.
The U.S. is #27, a far cry from the number 1 position implied in this list.
Other than to make some sort of an ideological point villifying the United States I can't figure out why a misleading list like this would be published without qualifiers.
Wanna bet the same people who embrace this list for the ingenuous way it misrepresnts would denounce it when population is factored in to show the truth?
Tom Bennett on Encyclopedia > James FitzJames, 1st Duke of Berwick 132 days 13 hours 46 minutes 5 seconds ago Al what is said here is nothing but pure slander and defamation against Mr. Silva de Balboa.-
First: He was acquitted on Appeal Term on initial charges on fraud as he showed the Court that his credit card was stolen and then used by another person.-
You should know that his attorney was Mr. Ramsey Clarke a former United States General Attorney. - Not any other lawyer my friend.-
Second: is untrue that Morgan Stanley took him to Court. What happened was that Mr. Silva de Balboa founded Morgan Stanley Chile in accordance to the Chilean corporate laws, and Morgan Stanley U.S. called for Arbitration (not to any Court) on the Internet domain for Morgan Stanley.- Morgan won the arbitration on the internet domain name but it paid Mr. Silva de Balboa for the name, plus Mr. Silva de Balboa kept his Chilean corporate name.-
The best, now Morgan is associated with him and his partners in a business development program in South America.-
All the rest are lies, envy and fantasies,

I'm a licenced broker and a friend to Luis for over 31 years.-

It is important to cherish one's history since as Edmund Burke said: "A people will not look forward to posterity who do not look backwards to their ancestry." The Bakiga definately have a long history and it needs to be preserved for posterity. Hopefully more historians will study in details the complex history of Bakiga.

ganam on Sri Lanka Profile > Immigration 136 days 5 hours 37 minutes 1 second ago A person in clerical job can afford a car and a house in Canada. A person in clerical job in Sri Lanka at the end of the month cannot by a McDonald’s burger. Sri Lanka is only now beginning to feel the brunt of the financial crisis, its impact on top of our already mismanaged macroeconomic conditions will hurt us even more.- Sri Lanka for example, refused to depreciate the currency even when other countries in South Asia, such as India, did so. For the week ending October 16, 2012, Canadian average retail gasoline prices decreased by nearly 3 cents per litre from the previous week to $1.30 per litre—this offset the 3 cents per litre rise of two weeks ago.
Dec 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka's state owned petroleum supplier Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has increased the price of a liter of 90-Octane petrol by Rs. 10. Prices have dropped across Ontario and are as low as $1.03 in some places. The provincial average is $1.20. The CPC price increase went into effect from midnight Friday and the new price of a 90-octane liter is Rs. 159. The new price of a kilo of chicken is Rs. 425 in Sri Lanka. The poultry producers were demanding the Consumer Affairs Authority to increase the price of chicken due to the increase in prices of feed and other needs in the industry.
Canada wholesale prices decreased by 10.6% (for farm products). Sri Lanka government also increased the price of cement. The retail price of a 50 kilo bag of cement has been increased by Rs. 68 - 85, Consumer Affairs Authority announced. The retail price of a 50 kilo bag of cement will be around Rs. 925 with this increase. Most of the clerical job people in Canada are multi millionaire after few years in this position. In Sri Lanka some of the clerical jobs people are beggars in kochikade after few years. So dear friends try to migrate quick as possible, because even Canada as planned to stop migration in few year, so until that here is our chance.

Domino's Pizza at War With Its Franchisees

The relationship between the number one home delivered pizza company in France and a great number of its Restaurant Managers grouped in an Association remains tense, regardless of some recent signs of appeasement.

The atmosphere is not always festive. In spite of an agreement reached at the end of November, the relationship remains more than tense between Domino's Pizza (DPF), France's number one take-away and home-delivered pizza company, and the Pepperoni association, which gathers together 180 of the country's 203 franchise DPF restaurants. For ten months now, the franchisee and the franchisors have been at war, with the franchisors very much up in arms against the parent company to which they automatically pay over 40% of their turnover sales in the form of royalties and various fees. And in spite of a first few signs of appeasement, numerous disagreements remain between them.

"We believe in our product, we believe in the brand. For my part, I have been linked to it for nearly 20 years! But it had become urgent to find solutions together with DPF... because otherwise we were heading straight for the wall!". So says Kamel Boulhalid, the President of Pepperoni. For him, the most important Domino's Pizza franchisee, with his 1163 salaried personnel in 40 restaurants (the French restaurants employ more than 3,600, with an average of approximately 18 persons per restaurant) "it was vital to find a new equitable and sustainable financial equilibrium between the franchisees and DPF. There must be a system in place whereby the franchisees have some chance to make a 3 to 4% margin. The Pepperoni Association will keep a watchful eye on the maintenance of some equilibrium between the franchisor and the franchisees.

Others are less upbeat than Kamel Boulhalid. "It is high time for action. We must cease to feed that ogre DPF", a rebellious franchisee calls out. "My circumstances are desperate. I will soon have to file for bankruptcy, or I will be bought out cheaply, like several before me. How much is my life worth? Will I attempt suicide, like those two other Franchise managers? Domino's Pizza France only impoverishes its franchisees to eventually buy them out", as another franchisee views it. As a matter of fact, in the last few months, DPF has indeed bought back collapsing franchise restaurants in Béziers, Castres, Fréjus, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Lens ou Liévin.

But what is it that bonds these franchisees to the DPF "ogre"? It is a Franchise Agreement that le Nouvel Observateur has been able to consult. It stipulates (in eighteen clauses and over more than fifty pages) that all food components - called "the food" in DPF jargon - as well as all the equipment, must be purchased exclusively from DPF. ""Every aspect of the business is dictated to us: not only the food purchase and selling price, but also how to make pizza, how to dress, how to greet customers. Sometimes I feel as if I have joined a sect", observes a disillusioned franchisee, smiling sadly. Yet another asks himself, "Am I so stupid as to believe that all will be well when the competition has disappeared?!"

The competition has for years taken its grievances before the Courts, denouncing what could be viewed as Domino's Pizza France's "strategy", namely to facilitate the indebtedness of the franchisees by permitting them not to pay what they owe to DPF as and when their bills fall due. This strategy allows for savings in the short and middle term for the DPF franchisees. But in actual fact it allows the eradication of the competition since the competitors cannot afford to sell at a loss, which in any case is illegal. On the other hand, in the long run, one outcome is the inextricable financial dependency on DPF of the franchisee. This dependency reaches such a level that it may translate in the franchisee being obliged to open a new restaurant ... in exchange for some "debt forgiveness" and an undertaking on their part "not to engage in any litigation against DPF (...) as well as to refrain from denigrating the network or the brand". A franchise manager so indebted for over 1 Million Euros exclaims: "At no time would I have imagined that my adversary would be DPF!"

In April 2011, the General Directorate for Competition, Consumers and the Suppression of Frauds (Direction générale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Fraudes ("DGCCRF")) duly established reports over the DPF network and issued a dozen fines for DPF's "failures to respect the regulations in relation to billing", as well as for "non-respect of the observation of payment times". But the Stock Exchange price of DPF remains unaffected by these warnings and these actual practical defects. In fact, quite the contrary since the Stock Exchange price makes steady progress. "It feels like an injustice to be so ill-used by DPF which only aims to shine on the Stock Exchange when in the meantime they are literally leaving us for dead", says virulently Gilles Bourbiguot, who heads the Domino's Pizza franchises in Toulouse. This accomplished car sportsman is presently facing DPF in the Courts, before the 19th Chamber. He adds, "the DPF system is very effective even if it consists in manipulating prime franchisees into investing in an unprofitable model. But DPF in effect voids our contract with them by manipulating us into financial and stock-market transactions that are quite beyond us". Just like Gilles Bourbiguot, half a dozen franchisees are now before the court, hoping that the 19th Chamber will validate and assert their rights.

When interviewed by le Nouvel Observateur, Mélanie Farcot-Gigon, the President of Domino's Pizza France, was emphatic: "the franchisees are what make the enterprise strong, we have many exchanges and we are real partners". If we are to believe her, what her predecessor wrote in 2004 is still valid today: "(dear franchisees), we will accomplish what others have never achieved: we will be the best. In a few years time we will look back with a smile on our face".

Dandroidian on Health > Obesity 143 days 16 hours 12 minutes 32 seconds ago These stats for obesity actually paint a picture that is better than reality. If you leave children out of the numbers, the percentage of obese adults is somewhat higher, and the percentage of overweight adults is considerably higher.

One of the major factors contributing to this is poor nutrition (particularly the high availability of cheap junk food and pervasiveness of high fructose corn syrup), and there is a good chance that this is also a factor in the high rates of mental illness, crime, and mass shootings in the US.
nirmal georgewilson on Encyclopedia > Sambavar 143 days 21 hours 35 minutes 12 seconds ago hi
i would like to tell the roots of sambavar / parian
They are one/more out of the 10 lost tribes of israel (refer to old testment of bible- after samuel II, kings I, Kings II, Isaiah, Jermiah). It is said in bible that the 10 tribes were captured and scattered syrian kings(bible says they were taken captive because they left their the God and worhsipped idols(stone , wood and mud). Only judah and benjamin tribes out of twelve tribe is left at that time. Bible tells that this 2 tribes were also captured by babylonian kings later. bible says these 2 tribes returned back to israel at some other point of time then they were driven away by romans about 40 years after the death of jesus christ. These scattered 2 tribes were called all over the world as jews (yuthar)(judah). They faced harassment all over the world. Hence they formed zion sangam and decided to go back to israel.British governement who was controlling the present israel at that time gave them a country in 1948 and was called as Israel. Now this israel country is in search of the ten lost tribes. They conducting genetic search all over the world to identify the 10 lost tribes. One of the tribes is also found in india (north eastern state-mizoram)and israel recognised it and they were granted permission to go and settle in israel. Now the link between israel and pariah/sambavar.Dravidians otherwise called medeteranneans are mixed race. They came to india through himalayas. They are a mixed race(each one is in a different colour - neither blacks all , nor whites all). How did it happen. Many researches tell that hebrews blacks or a mixed raced race.after that according to bible -Jacob who is hebrew married Leah and Rachel(hebrew) and their female slaves Bilhah and Zilpah(african).Hence it is very clear that dravidians are the descendents of abraham- jacob(israel).Once the dravidans(isrelites) came to india afghan border after escaping asyrrian kings found the five rivers of punjab and wanted to settle there seeing that it is so fertile. This does not last long . soon some other race came there. It is the aryans. Dravidians (israelites ) could not fight with them( they are not prepared for war/no weapons) .Others retreated back and found shelter (Bahui the dravians in pakistan and afghan) .Dravidians(israelites)do not carry any documents of their native language (hebrew) hence they had to to learn or develop a language tamil.( if u request i will tell you about the formation of tamil- a theory). After they learnt/developed tamil they felt south india as a home land. They started to live in small groups (communities ) among them is the dominant eyinars (hunters). Now all dravidians followed (adhi bagavan - EEsan)(saivam)(israelite form of worship)(no idol worship).the eyinars(major group of dravidians) from the beginning were beef eaters and are staunch supporters of saivism always opposed to the aryan form of worship. eyinars at some point of time were divided into different groups and one major group among them is pariah/sambavar (classification during and before tamil kings). Later as things advanced they started to have kings which we call as cheras, cholas and pandiyas by imitating the north indian aryan formats. Soon cultural exchanges happened between north india and south india. Some of the kings of dravidians were attracted by the north indian religions accepted them which led some sections of north indian aryans and others to settle in south india. Hence there is a some mix between aryans and dravidians (culturally and genetically). then the decline of tamil kings. Came north indian kings . further cutural and genetical mixture. When other group of eyinars lost their identity because of cultural exchange(most of them not geneticallY) parians continued managed to be unique in (genetically and culturally). Now parians/sambava lived all throught south india(especially kerala and tamiladu). Now decline of thondaimandalam (northern and eastern tamilnadu)kings(tamil kings) led to the occupation of pallava kings (who were believed to be dravidans but with cultural and religious difference). One of the kings of pallava forced every one in their territory to give up saivism (sambo- the eesan). Most of the tamils(the dravidians) including some parians (the present sengunthar and agamudiar mudaliars) because of fear embraced idol worship (worshiping of stone, wood and mud). But parians who were called as sambavar becaused of the close affinity with eesan revolted against the pallava king. Hence they faced stringent actions and were driven away and every ones wealth was taken away just because they should affection towards god. They lost everything including their priesthood in saiva temples. But the converted parians still continued to have some roles in religious ritual but in temples with idols . the parians who were converted continued to carray their occupation(weaving and farming). Now came the decline of pallava. So many different kings came to south india and made cultural and religious changes (krishna deva raya and muslim and others). Now when every king comes the commanders and others of them further supressed parians. The also supressed pallan who are believed to be the descenedents of pallava.Things went on till the british came here. With the establishment of british rule equal law for all came to emerge. Slowly liberations started for all the oprressed classes including parians. So all through more than 2000 years the parians retained their identity as dravidians and as israelites(genetically)inspite of several odds. hence the government in around 1890s changed the name from parian to adidravidan(sons of the soil)telling to the world that they are unique. Now they are gearing ahead in every field. Now further into parian - israel link. Jesus christ choose 12 persons as his disciples. new testment says jesus commanding his disciples not to go any where except firt to the 12 tribes of israel. after the death of jesus St.Thomas who was one of his disciples came to indian especially in south india and lost his life here. Why did he came to india. That too immediately after the jesus death. Reason is that to get back His(God -jehovah) people. The parians in tamilnadu share a strong gentic link with the tamils in srilanka especially tamils living in north eastern srilanka. Now learn that tamils (who have strong genetic link with parians) are spread all over the world just like the jews( one of the tribes of israel). They were killed in thousands and thousands just like how jews were killed by hitler. They are one/some of the tribes of israel. Any one puts an hand on israel(which includes) will never escape from the wrath of god. The world is going to see the same thing as what was happended to germany and its allies to the ones who are opressing us. We are the tamils (by language) dravdians by tribes and a Great Nation (Israel).
