A vice committed by most sites is the omission of key facts. Obviously, due to the lack of soft tissue, many facts are minimal. However, it does not excuse the omission of facts which are beyond debate. Examples include who discovered the fossil artifact, when (what time period the fossil came from), and most important - where was the fossil remains located (i.e. Mongolia, Egypt, Wyoming). The last I find most obnoxious, as it is the worst hindrance in conducting research, closely followed by when. some sites leave out location even on articles about extant species. |
