The Gross National Income of the Bahamas was $4.5 billion in 2000, while the GNI per capita was $15,236.

Keep in mind, this does not mean that tha average worker’s salary is necessarily $15,000. If the richest group of people in a country earn a large proportion of the income, while virtually everyone else earns very little, the per capita GNI would likely be much greater than the average worker’s salary.
