I'm a student in Nebraska. I'm doing a project about Brazil. I was wondering if you could give me information on imports and exports in Brazil, about which export and import are the most important and why.

HI! I am Mr. Albert P. Revilles, a Senior Tax Specialist at the National Tax Research Center, Department of Finance, Republic of the Philippines. We are currenctly undergoing a research on the improvement of the government's tax system particularly on the Value Added Tax system. We are really so desperate as to information regarding Brazil's Value added Tax System particularly on the the provisions of input VAT on capital goods. We read in some articles that Brazil is allowing the spreasding of input VAT on capital goods for certain years. Please be informed that our country is looking into the possibility of adopting the same practice with the end in view of improving the fiscal position of our government. I would appreciate it very much if you cound provide me some data/nformation on this matter.

In response to Albert P Revilles -- one of the best sources of the kind of detailed information you're looking for, would be http://www.worldbank.org/, where you could do a search for "VAT+Brazil". You could also try to contact The World Bank people; they're generally very helpful.

I am composing an Energy Outlook report for Brazil for the next 10 years. I have already gathered data from the US Dept of Energy (EIA)and have tried to gather information from the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Brazil - their website publications are all in Portuguese, which is difficult, but doable.

Does anyone have more information sources to recommend for anything related to the energy sector in Brazil, especially consumption by sectors and upcoming public policies related to Energy?
Thanks!

In view of the recent shooting of a Brazilian student who overstayed his student visa status in the United Kingdom. Does the Brazilian government not keep records of students who leave the country to study overseas and who do not return home?
