I lived in cyprus for five years from 2006 until 2011. i am from england. my cypriot bank manager stole a total of £93,900 from me and the bank in question, the cyprus police (including the c.i.d) have done nothing. the money was stolen sixteen months ago and although i have proof it was theft, i have little hope of ever getting my life savings back. you hear stories of brits losing there money in property in cyprus but mine was fraudulently taken directly from my bank account without my authorisation. the bank have since fired the manager and he is awaiting court, so why am i suffering? simple. cyprus is a very corrupt country which does not want to live by any e.u rules. infact the only reason cyprus joined the e.u was for protection against turkey who invaded and took over a third of the island back in 1974.
