My wife and I are also considering Panama (and Belize) for retirement. I would like to hear from people who have done it. We prefer country to city living and enjoy local food and culture. We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean so we have an idea of what we are looking for. |

I am considering retirement in Panama. How safe is Panama for Americans,cost of living, crime rate, etc. What would one expect to pay for a comfortable condo, etc. in best area of Panama City and what are taxes (real estate, personal, etc) like. Is Panama a good choice for American retirees? I am already bilingual and well travelled in So and Central America so I like the culture - but have never visited Panama. Gracias. |
