South Africa is lying about the current crime stats. They are afraid to reveal the true stats because of 2010. WAKE UP AND SEE THE TRUTH THE WRONG PEOPLE ARE IN POWER!

I am from Durban on South Africa's east coast. It is a virtual paradise, where summer literally never ends... if it wasn't for crime. there is an interesting website to visit regarding crime and Durban. It's www.berea3.co.za. It has all sorts of crime related topics, advice articles, links and blogs... well worth a visit.

Cameron please, we've never had to recount votes in this country. In which election year did this happen?

Kaffir and Boer Wars? Kaffir? Why is this website using this despicable term 14 years after the people of this beautiful country have confined it to scrap heap of useless terms. Is your research that lacking.

I don’t know where Axl Hess gets his information but it is wrong. There is no government supported genocide and whites are not being slaughtered. The economy has never been better now that everybody and not just 1/5 of the population is allowed to participate. Moreover most whites have made a fortune from the property they owned thanks to the resultant property boom.

Cameron, sounds like you are ready for Australia. There you will find like-minded people. People that still believe: apartheid is a workable solution; a sports team performs better if they spent time together naked in a dark damp hole; and white people are superior to other races even though they have killed well over 100 000 000 people in their wars, have committed more white collar crimes than any other race group (Enron, Arthur Anderson, Bearings Bank, Societe Generale … ) pollute and destroy the world in the name of capitalism and progress.

I look forward to the day Cameron and his type have left South Africa so the rest of us can get on with living in a wonderful, vibrant and diverse African country.

Many previously advantaged people are finding life difficult to cope with. The advent of democracy is a challenge to some !! Many individuals are finding it difficult to get good jobs as women and Black people are given preference. There should be time frames for correcting past injustices!

Many individuals are testing the limits of the liberal and democratic constitution.

Criminals are taking advantage of this transition period- change from apartheid to democracy.

Our constitution appears to favour criminals more than victims.

The criminal justice system like any other system is undergoing continuous change. This should be stepped up !!

I strongly believe that the death penalty should be reinstated and strong clear messages should be sent to transgressors of serious crimes.

South Africa is a land of great potential with wonderful people !

Watch my websites soon to be launched windowsonafrica.com

and many others.

Cameron had a great post! South Africa used to be a thriving economic country due to its wealth of natural recources and the good leadership of the White Europeans who founded the entire area before any black had thought of living there. It used to be a nice place to live and a safe place to vacation to with beautiful beaches and rich environment. Once the blacks got control, the country immediately started going downhill. It now has the highest rate of AIDS and an extremely high crime rate. A large part of the crime is government supported GENOCIDE of the native Whites still living there. It is utter chaos across the land just as one would expect from blacks. Whites are being slaughtered every day in far worse ways than anything Saddam ever did to his people in Iraq.

What a lekker(nice) old place South Africa is, as the old saying goes:"when in Rome do as the Romans do" but "when in Africa do as you please" because nobody or anybody gives a hoot. The politicians are there to fill their pockets and to make empty promises, idiotic statements etc. We really enjoy the entertainment & comedy! Keep it up guys it is not your fault that you have no brains!!!

The drop in growth could probably be attributed to post-colonialism and the Apartheid republic. Currently the country is seeing the best growth years its had in decades.

On the religions, Islam is at least as big as Christianity, especially under the coloured and Indian populations. There are also several traditional religions prominent under the black cultures, including Zionist-type nature religions.

Corruption in the highest levels of the ANC, labour laws that stop everyone (black or white) from finding employment,
poor service delivery in every govt dep and Politicians helping none but their friends and families are some of reasons that South Africa is going down. Just look at Zimbabwe. As a South African living in Johannesburg I think I speak with some authority about the issues my country faces. Save Us.

I'm very disappointed with South African Law makers, for me it seems as if they contradict each other. I wonder where do they carry most of their statistics in getting the feedback from people and what methods do they use. Please when making laws try to consult people who will be affected and unaffected as much as possible. I make examples for this argument as you can safely pick one. Thanks

South Africa is a great country because:
1. You can eat half dried meat and not be considered disgusting.
2. Nothing is your fault, you can blame it all on apartheid.
3. You get to buy a new car every 3 months and the insurance company even
pays for it.
4. You can experience shit service in eleven official languages.
5. Where else can you get oranges with 45% alcohol content at rugby matches?
6. It's the only country in the world where striking workers show how angry
they are by dancing.
7. You're considered clumsy if you cannot: use a cell phone (without car
kit), change CDs, drink a beer, put on make-up, read the newspaper and smoke,
all at the same time while driving a car at 160 kph in a 60 kph zone.
8. Great accent. (!!!)
9. If you live in Johannesburg, you get to brag about living in the
most dangerous city in the world.
10. Burglar bars become a feature, and a great selling point for your house.
11. You can decorate your garden walls with barbed wire.
12. The tow-trucks are the first on the scene for most major crimes,
without being called. The police you have to call about three times.
13. Votes have to be recounted until the right party wins.
14. Illegal immigrants leave the country because the crime rate is too high.
15. The police ask you if they must follow up on the burglary you've just
reported.
16. A murderer gets a 6 month sentence and a pirate TV viewer 2 years.
17. The prisoners strike and get to vote in elections!
18. The police stations have panic buttons to call armed response when they
are burgled
19. Police cars are fitted with immobilisers and gearlocks!

Ja nee!! Dis lekker hier!!

Dear Sirs,
I would like to draw your attention to the following:
When we point with the "little hand" on the map of Dominican Republic, we can read "Dominica", that is not correct. It should be " Dominican Republic". As you are aware, Dominica is a little island between Guadalupe and Martinica.
Congratulations for your excelent site.
Best regards.
