According to INE (National Statistics Institute) the total Spanish population was 44.108.530 as for 1st January 2005. Most pop clock websites need to update that figure as they still assume annual population increase for Spain remains the same as a decade ago.
As a result of that the 40.300.000 projection that is usually given to Spain everywhere across the net, keeps underestimating actual figures by almost 4 million people now.

Please, where you take the statistics?: In advance of population in August 2005, Spain has 43.975.375. The increase of population is the greater ones of Europe and it takes place by the immigration of the Americas.
