I have been getting daily calls from UK Lifestyle Survey, who I assume is the same outfit as British Lifestyle Survey and Consumer Lifestyle Survey! These calls all fit the above descriptions. I feel very frustrated and angry that there is nothing I can do to stop them - I cannot report them to TPS without their phone number, which they will not give.
They seem to be interested in selling gas/electricity to me - so one of our UK suppliers must be using them?
If anyone has any progress with stopping them, please let us all know.

6 calls in one day. When I ask them to remove me fromn their dialling list as I am ex directory, they just hang up before I can finish my request. Really getting on my nerves. The only option seems to be unplugging the phone which would render having a phone useless. My provider also seems powerless to do anything about it.

I suggest you contact Lord Stephen Carter, the Minister for Telecommunications at carterst@parliament.uk and register your disapproval with him.As some of the people complaining have found out registering with, or complaining to the TPS is useless, since they have no power over surveyists.
Lord Carter has a team of about 650 people to assist him in formulating laws to prevent folk like you being pestered by phonecalls from Asia about "lifestyle". Steve and his team will be glad to help, they're all on a salary of at least 65k and don't have much to do other than drink in their subsidised bars and fill in expenses claims.

I was just contacted by these people. They had all my details, name, address, postcode. He asked me to confirm which I did. Strong indian accent. He said 3 short questions which turned into about 6 or 7 questions. Said they are only yes or no answers. Asked if I have a conservertery, had any loan before, would I give to charity, would I sponser a child, am I interested in lowering household bills, interested in broadband and telephone offers from Talk Talk. Then he asked my age range. As you can see they ask more than 3 short questions. It took me three attempts to get the actual name of the company. Then the guy hung up on me as I was confirming the name. Very rude. If they call back, I'll be ready. Its maybe an advantage for us but the call is a bit annoying. Just was researcing the company and came to this, so thought I would share my first time experience with The British Lifestyle survey.

Had a call from British Lifestyle Survey yesterday (23 February 2012), despite having registered with a blocking company I got through the Telephone Preference Service site (in the (UK).
What have you got to do, other than not have a telephone to stop these parasites calling!

Just had my second call in as many weeks, so definitely not at a nuisance level yet. Told them both times that I'm not interested and hung up.

However, if they're calling from abroad and with a withheld number (I don't have caller ID but other people have suggested that's the case) then next time I'll probably just ask them if they can hold on the line for a moment, then set the phone aside and let them sit there in silence for as long as they want (presumably tying up an operator and paying international call charges while they do it).

I had 2 calls from British Lifestyle Survey yesterday. I wonder whether they got my name from ebay? I am selling something. Someone placed a bid on my item, requested my contact details, then withdrew their bid saying they couldn't contact me. All within the space on 1 minute. I raised it with ebay who said they'd deal with it. They didn't. A week later it happened again.

Ive keep getting contacted by british lifestyle survey. All of the above - strong indian accent, rude, just cut me off when i ask them questions about their company. They think i am someone else who lives nearby. Something must be done but i dont know what!

If they tell you to only answer yes or no, throw it back at them and tell them to answer yes or no only followed by the question: "Are you allowed to call TPS numbers?" - the call will probably be disconnected and no further calls will annoy you

I have also recently been called by this company - it's not a lifestyle survey at all but a way of generating leads for different companies and organisations - I was asked if I were willing to give to charity, when my car insurance was due (after telling them I didn't have a car), about pensions and so on. Today I was called by Age Concern and a 'Pension Review' company. When I asked where they got my number from - as I was registered with the TPS, they said I'd recently responded to a survey where I indicated an interest in these areas! Although they were both apologetic it was very annoying. The survey is not remotely about lifestyle and they should be prosecuted for lying. While the call centre might be based in India, the companies on whose behalf they are doing the survey certainly do have British connections and should be subject to UK laws.

I was just contacted by these people and they wanted me to confirm my name and address which i did. The guy wanted me to confirm my first name which i didn't cos i said to him he should have it on record just like my number and everything else. While he was on the phone i decided to look up "British Lifestyle Survey" and it brought me to this forum. When the guy realised i was on the computer i heard him repeat it to someone else 3 times and then they hung up. Yes the number came up private which was no surprise to me. These people are a bloody nusiance and i dont understand how they get away with it. Beware of the "British Lifestyle Surveyors!!!!!!!!!!

To get rid of the British Lifestyle Survey callers, I tell them that I charge £3 a question.
This also works for market researchers in the high street.

Yes, British Life Style Survey calls are a nuisance. I tried being friendly, asking them questions, but, they take no notice.

The TPS can do nothing about the calls.

I don't like to do it, but, I decided to have some fun with them. Clearly, they are going to call back, and, if they want to waste my time, i'll waste theirs.

Like others I was contacted by British Lifestyle Survey today. The accent was so heavy I couldn't understand half of what the guy was saying. When I said I wasn't interested he replied "I love you"! This follows several weeks of silent calls at different times of the day. TPS - please do something to stop this!

I have just been called by British Lifestyle Survey and I asked if that was the company name. She hung up immediately! It is the second nuisance call I have had today despite also being registered with TPS! (The first was an automatic number dialling system and when I chose the option to speak to someone to get the company name, it put me through to an answering service!) I too am going to report it - the more reports they get, the more pressure they'll get to do something about it.

I have had 2 calls in 3 days. I could not understand them for ages and even found myself apologising for their bad English - They assumed I was the person they actually asked for - not me, I asked to speak to someone else as the language barrier was a struggle. The floor manager came to the phone and talked v e r y s l o w l y to me but I still didnt get everything he said. I asked where he got my number from and he said "I honestly got it from the yellow pages" I said no, your not being honest as the name you called me does not exist for the number you called - he hung up. TPS probably wont be able to do anything as they are calling from outside the UK - I was already registered with TPS.

Brtish Lifestyle Survey: I have been rung four times today, within the space of three hours, by four different people - all with Indian accents but professing to English names like James and John. I asked each one in turn to remove me from the mailing list and not to ring me again. On the fourth call I asked to be put through to a supervisor who was as good as useless. I asked him if his company was registered at Companies House in London and he said yes, when I queried this and asked for the name of the company director he rang off. It seems very fishy indeed. Beware.

I have just received two calls from british lifestyle survey.
There is nothing the TPS can do about these calls: they only act for telemarketing calls, not for surveys or charities etc. Nevertheless ~I have contacted them with the details asking for advice as it seems it doesn't matter how many times I ask these w***ers not to ring me back, they still do!! Grrrrr & number withheld. Maybe I should get withheld numbers blocked? Anyway, waiting to see what the TPS advise....

I too have been harrassed by British Lifestyle Survey. Firstly I could not even understand who they were as the accent was so thick - which annoyed them. They started to confirm my name and address then to ask quite personal questions. I asked how they got my details as I have TPS and they declined to answer. I then said 'no more'and put the phone down. I also 1471'd and number not known. I also am reporting them to TPS.

I have had six calls from British Lifestyle Survey in the last four days. I got one of them to tell me that they are calling from Bangladesh. They just will not take me from their lists so I am reporting them to the Telephone Preference Service. If they call you, treat them rough and tell them that you will report them for harassment.HFNRV

I very recently had a phone call from someone claiming to represent 'The British Lifestyle Survey'. He wished to confirm my name and Address - which I did - but when I told him I had not heard of that organisation he rang off. I 1471'd but the caller's number was not known. Beware 'lifestyle surveys'.

i believe that cannabis should be legalized as part of a medicall issue. people that have artheritous could use cannabis to help them with it. and really to be honest if cannabis doesn't get legalized people are just going to keep selling it and also dealing it which is getting them into trouble. Another reason why cannabis should be legalized is because this way only adults are going to be able to get hold of it unless there is still going to be a dealer that deals to children. Just give it a thought yeah imagine people in your family that have artheritous
