Dear Sirs:
I would like to see (via a frequency polygon or pie chart) how personal income and property taxes have risen over the past 50 to 100 years. |
Cheryl Barnes ( Hillsboro, Tennessee) 10th January 2007 |
Taxation was created to fund the war along time ago. It was suppose to be cut out after that.
But the bureacrates got use to having this money to rely on. Therefore, they kept on getting the "taxes" from "the people" and kept raising them to meet their needs at the spending rates they created.
Spending on various outrageous monitary values without using the limits provided them.
This has made the public suffer. The ones that thought the SSI they had coming to them would sustain them in their old age. And were told it would.
Now most of these people are eating dog and cat food, if that. Doing without health care and medicine. If they have a home they can't afford heat or air.
How many of the politicians or upper class have tried to live on $800. a month or less? It's doubtful that many have.
You may think what's another $100. a month? It's alot if you only get $500-$800 and some goes on insurance that don't really help. You have to get a supplimental that only helps a little.
If you have to pay rent, car payment (if you are lucky enough to have a car), Utility bills, phone (if you can afford that), insurances, medicine which you have to pick and choose which one you'll get. You just can not have all of this and get food or all of the afore mentioned needed items.
When you need clothes, well you just make do.
Do any of the people in Washington that get those high salaries that they give themselves live like this? NO THEY DO NOT! And what about the rest of us that live from pay check to pay check if we are lucky. Get sick and there goes a few bills that can not get paid. We can not get the medicine needed when we are told what we need, it just costs too much!
Our house needs repair, it's falling down around me. I have no money to fix it and I'm disabled so I can not do it myself. I could not afford payments if I borrowed money to fix it. So, what am I and others like me to do? It's so cold in here I can not afford to heat it and hot in the summer I can not afford to cool it. But my bills are so high they reflect the status of such that it seems I do heat and cool my home. So I can not buy food or medicine I need. Or pay all of my bills on time. I have to make choices. They will cut everything off it it's not paid. So I will continue to do without.
Until you all quit over spending on unneccesary things, extravagant parties, 1st class tickets on planes, or private jets and fuel, limos, having us pay for your homes and everything else we are paying for and make the taxes really reasonalable. Help the middle and lower class people, (even the ones with no children at home) we are going to have many people in this country in the states I have mentioned.
Not only having more becoming homeless. But more being the way I and the others are.
You want America to wake up. You all need to wake up and see what you are doing to your own people.
You will help other countries before your own. Giving money and food. I've heard it in presidental speaches and in the news.
We are not as free as we are told! We are told what we can and can not have in our yards, what color our house has to be, how much we have to spend on our house, what type of house we can have, how much money we can keep of OUR hard earned money, we are taxed by the federal government, the state, the stores, gas stations, even used stores, over and over again.
If you figure it up almost 70% of our money goes to taxes. How are we expected to save any money. We have none for food and bills. Much less any to save.
I love this country but our government has me discouraged, depressed, and feeling very alone here. Not cared for a a human being!
It's a shame but I know many people that feel simular as I do.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Barnes |
