Anyone who thinks that this man Remigius kanagarajah is a prince is as foolish as he is. He just like anyone else a asylum seeker who went to netherlands and worked washing cows for his living. Wake up people dont be fooled by this man. |

This so called Prince should shut up ,work like everyone in the daily life. He has no right to call him king , he never helped any party's in Sri Lanka,Moreover even if it is true ,these ppl worked in past with western powers and robbed Tamil and Singalese. So these ppl should not even be permited to enter north or south Sri Lanka! |
Kandy 4th April 2009 |
There have been no kings of Jaffna since 1619 CE. It is absurd for someone to lay claim to a title that became extinct nearly 400 years ago. Furthermore, Sri Lanka is a Democratic Socialist Republic - and therefore does not recognise titles of nobility from the distant past.
In addition, Mr Kanagarajah has not been able to produce a complete family tree tracing father-son descent from any of the Arya Chakravarti kings, rendering his claim even more tenuous.
In conclusion, even if there are descendants of the Jaffna royal family, it has no bearing on Sri Lanka today. Also, there is documented evidence of surviving descendants of the Kings of Kandy today, who received Privy Purse payments until 1965 but most of them prefer to get on with their lives like everyone else rather than laying claims to thrones that have ceased to exist for several centuries. |

There is a talk in the town that Prince of Jaffna had enough with the Sri Lanka Government and he his planing to get back for good to take over Jaffna and the East part of the country. I think once if he returns to the country no one can stop him and the Tamil will have their golden days back.

Ravi Kumar what you say about the Prince Kanagarajah is true. Many people are speaking about him good and he his a kind Prince. Do you think that he can get back to Sri Lanka? Who can grantee his life. He can be killed by any one. Prince of Jaffna should take some action on this peace matter, because he his the Legitimat Prince of Jaffna today. If King Sangiliyan was still alive do you think that tamils will be suffering like this under the sinhales government, No differently not. So Prince Kanagarajah has to do something now never later. Still he has not spoken a word to the tamil people??? He should return to his country and helps all to live in peace. We need his help now.
Yours truly
