COMMENTARY     

Shahid Khan (Karachi Pakistan)
26th January 2009 		Recently I traveled to Jiwani and found six British bunkers. Approx 20ft square in plan with gun slots all around. Apparently built during the 2nd WW.Names such as HOLMES are carved on these 2 story structures. Question: Why were they built here in this remote location? Surely there was no threat from the Germans or Italians in this location.
Can anyone shine some light on this.
I am considering the possibility of renovating some of these for tourist accommodation.
