The Lugii and Łużyczanie are identical etyomologically, they are simply differently pronounced. The Polish Ł is a convoluted L (change in pronunciation). The Ż is a convoluted G. So Łyżyczanie is Lugitanie. The German Lausitz is a hopeless translation. For your information most of East German towns are germanised Polish words. eg Berlin either Berło or Barłog, Cottbus = Chociebuż, Lubeck = Łubica, Rostok = Roztok, Saaren = Sarny, Stieglitz = Szczygieł, Wendenloche = Wendów, Zahren = Żary, Goerlitz = Zgorzelec, Chemnitz = Kamieniec, Treptow = Trzebiatów, Dresden = Dreżdany, etc etc
