I just wanted to ask if I may please have the email address for Lyle Mays.
On his website (www.lylemays.com) there is an 'contact' email address - hgendreau@aol.com. I've written about 6 emails to this address, all to no avail.
I just have to get hold of a brilliant piece of solo piano music from Lyle, no matter what the cost!!
Please write to me at: ivorlaw@hotmail.com
Many thanks,
Ivor. |

I just have to get hold of a brilliant piece of solo piano music from Lyle (Warsaw 1993 part C), no matter what the cost!! I've seen it on 'Youtube'.
Many thanks and regards,

I majored in music at UW-Eau Claire, WI, from 1970-72, studying voice and piano. I remember being in Music Theory class with Lyle - we sat next to each other. Neither of us was happy there. I left the music department after 2 semesters, and changed my major to Music Therapy, with classes in the same building. Subsequently, I moved to Cambridge, MA and did independent studies in psychology at Harvard, traveled around Europe, worked in Boston, and eventually got a degree in psychology from the UW-Madison.
I don't see any mention of Lyle's days in Eau Claire, but I remember us taking music theory together. I've also talked with Sara Steele, a painter from Philadelphia, when I was exhibiting my artwork there in the '90's. She bought a piece of work from me, and we became friends. I noticed that she dedicated some of her work to Lyle Mays, because her paintings are reflections of his music. There's such a connection here - and I've always loved the Pat Metheny group's music. Have always bought albums as they come out, and still listen and dance to it. I'm wondering if Lyle Mays remembers his days at the Fine Arts Center across the river in Eau Claire? |
