COMMENTARY

30th August 2006 		I did not see any reporting of the drug problem there and also the crime rate which on other sites rate Panama Beach as violent. If it is called the redneck area there is a problem with the hilly billy heroin, OXYCONTIN. My Husband is interested in moving there without me. I want to protect my littlest child, she is 8 yrs old and my son is 10 yr's old. My Husband has a serious drug problem and it is with OXYCONTIN abuse. At this time he is in a safe place with my children, while I work on a court case in Alaska. Are my children safe? Do I need to report to Social Services as he will apply for welfare in Panama Beach and he left Alaska due to OXYCONTIN addiction. He has 2 friends there who are drug abusing alcohol men, whom I do not know...I am very concerned about the availability to drugs and child molesters !!!! Please e-mail the crime statistics...I need to know if I have to alert Children Services. Tammy Grubert
