I just recently had my DNA tested, and I am haplogroup U3b. I have read that U3b is the 'predominant maternal haplogroup' of the Gypsies....that the U3 'mutated east of Armenia' and the U3 people who became the Gypsies, were the U3b. I find it odd that even though I found this statement on the internet, you do not mention U3b as a mitochrondrial DNA of the Gypsy people. My ancestors were from Austria-Hungary and I believe they were either Slovak or Sinti Gypsies. Please respond.
