You should mention that the plebiscite 1935 took place when the Nazis already were on power and their concentration camp of Dachau near Munich was already operative. Emigrants from Nazi-Germany had been reporting what was going on in the "Reich". Despite these facts the plebiscite became an overwhelming success for the Nazis thus encouraging them to proceed to more atrocities and finally WW II. |
