Your facts in this article are HOPELESSLY WRONG. Ishould know as I was there in 1976. The founder and first OC of the Unit was Col. J.D. Breytenbach DVR. SD. SM. MMM. and Sybie van der Spuy was only a Cmdt at the time and he was the OC of 2 Reconnisance Commando who where attached to Bravo Group as part of the leader element. Colonel Deon Ferreira was known as "Falcon" and there was ONLY ONE "BIG DADDY" AND THAT WAS Colonel Eddie Viljoen, Who joined the Unit as a Commando Cmdt in 1976 and after a few months he attested in the Permenant Force and returned as a Major.
I would like to suggest that the author of this peice does not have all the FACTS and should SERIOUSLY look at REWRITING this serious peice of Miss information.
