The tennis court oath was taken on the equivalent of today's handball courts. A seemingly small and chaotic room. It was here that the 3rd Estate agreed on the title of "The National Assembly" and the following day where the National Assembly took the oath, known as the Tennis court oath in which the swore to continue to meet until a new constitution was made. |
