I am during research on Dr. William Thomson. During the Civil War, in 1862 Dr. Thomson served as chief of staff to Dr. Letterman, General McClellan's medical director. In 1863 Dr. Thomson was in charge of Douglass Hospital, in Washington. In 1864 he was appointed inspector of the Washington hospitals. After leaving the service he practiced in Philadelphia.
I am in need of copies of hand written documents from Dr. Thomson for a comparative study. I have searched for many hours with no success. If someone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
