COMMENTARY

I haven't been able to verify the highly precise value of 365.256 363 051 days for the length of a sidereal year. What is the source of that value, and what is the uncertainty? Hours of web search has not given me the confidence that I know the accepted state of that measurement. Respected sites such as NASA present a value of 365d 6h 9m 9.54s, which seems to date back to 1926. The Astronomical Almanac for the year 2007 released by the US Government gives a value consistent with this one (365d 6h 9m 9.8s).
