FACTOID # 53: If you thought Antarctica was inhospitable, think again - its land area is only ninety-eight percent ice. Reassuringly, the other 2% is categorised as "barren rock".

The LiuHe BaFa methods and style of exercise originate from the three 'water' boxing teachers of Msr. Wu YiHui; Msr. Wu is known to have integrated the LuHong 8-Link boxing [LuHongBaShih] also. Later, with the opening of a Martial Academy in Nanjing Msr. Wu had interactions with famous xingyi and bagua teacher and others [swimming dragon style] and this becomes the beginning of LHBF to the public.
Msr.Wu also had a close friendship with Sun LuTang and shared the 'original' water boxing with him; Msr.Wu also had
a similar friendship with Wang XiangZhai founde of YiQuan and Wang's student Han XingQiao studied with Wu. This Yiquan to LHBF exchange was not taught though the Hongkong school of Chen YikYan.
Teacher John Chung Li, who learned both LHBF and YiQuan further addended teachings from HunYuan, spiraling.
Thus, LHBF definition depends upon location and teachers evolutions. In the classification of chinese martial exercises, LHBF is classified as a sub-class of tai-chi. Furthermore, current versions can be briefer or longer than the 66-forms coming from Nanjing.
