When I first looked at this, I thought WOW, the US is not in a good position here! As an American, I was concerned about the future. After reading the third post though, it appears that the US is in the best position. Is this correct to assume? I didn't realize our business was considered the most efficient.

It seems this data is something like how efficient it would be for an AMERICAN firm to have opperations in another country, all other things held constant (labor costs, etc). Another thing: Only 51 countries are in the index (as of June 2007), so I wonder if it's based on a particular multinational company's opperations.

Obviously, lower wages and benefits = higher efficiency.
