I am currently researching the divorce rates of many different countries for a math project and I'm wondering if anyone has any information or leads for me on where I could find information to compare different factors that could affect the divorce rates, such as religion, income, etc for the different countries. Also am looking to see whether countries with lower divorce rates have higher rates of spousal abuse or domestic violence, including murder ... just a thought! Let me know what you all think! Thanks. |

I read in a Dorling Kindersly book on population that 75% of marrages in cuba end in divorce. Perhaps this is because Cuba is a socialist country with no private property. There there is no economic loss in being divorced. I think it proves that marriage is a unnatural phenomena which has been created for practical economic reasons. Life long love would appear to be unnatural! |

For a school project I need to know the divorce rate for the USA, but I am not sure I understand how it 'works'. What exactly does 4.95 per 1,000 people mean? I always heard that our divorce rate was 50%, but 5 divorces for every thousand people is not 50%. Could someone help me with how these number work?
thanks crystal please e-mail me (cryncess@msn.com) |

Marriage is one of the best relationships and experiences in life and like most things we must work at for it and work to mantain it. Marriage is not impossible. I am not married yet but i know that marriage involves commitment, humility and understanding.I understand but am disappointed at the pessimistic view on marriage due to many unsucsessful marriages and deters people from entering into a marriage. I pray that we will learn to place more value and significance on marriage may GOD bless the marriages all over the world... |

Divorce is a ghastly parasite that eats at the moral, ad spitiutal values o which society is ased. As such, we should seek to locate the root of this prolematic issue & attemp to eradicate its existece which adversely affects our lives. |
