Why when we determine the PPP-adjusted or comparison economic growth rate we always convert to Dollar USD?

I don't understand it.
When I look at the IMF and world bank data I receive different numbers and different factors than the one here.

Quick question.... please can you advise how I would change something that cost 10USD in Tanzania in 2005 to the equivalent cost in Kenya in 2007?
