This definition leaves me baffled. Although I have a bachelors degree in matchematics, a masters degree in computer science, got an "A" in statistics in medical school, and am sympathetic to the concept that the maldistribution of wealth in the U.S. is CRIMINAL,

BUT:

I can't make any sense whatsover of this table. What is the point?
What does this mean ? If I can't figure this out, you will be unintelligible to
99% of the population.

> This index measures the degree of inequality in the distribution of
> family income in a country. The index is calculated from the Lorenz
> curve, in which cumulative family income is plotted against the
> number of families arranged from the poorest to the rich"
