My figures for the United Kingdom aren't entirely accurate, since I divided the United Kingdom's GDP in 1950 by the number of inhabitants in the UK in 1960, which was the closest I could get to 1950, and the demographics weren't that drastic of a change. The figure I came up with was $6,345.00 for the UK's GDP per capita in 1950. This would be somewhat higher because there were less people in the UK in 1950 than in 1960. But my figures place the UK at 7th or 8th, which Mr. Fitzergerald said was where it would roughly be placed, which I think adds more credibility to my figure. I don't claim that my numbers are totally accurate, but they do give you a good idea of where the UK stood in 1950 in relation to the other nations. |

South Korea and North Korea had war going on in 1950s, which made South Korea one of poorest country in the world. And South Korea ranks #38 in 1950? Ridiculous |
