What year are these statistics given? Kenya is last but has implemented universal primary education in 2003, so this doesn't make sense to me given that they spend 7% of their GDP on education |

I'd like to know how the statistics are skewed to show that Sudan has the 3rd highest proportional government spending on education in the world. Kind of makes the entire report suspect. Perhaps the statistics should not be based on enrolled children, but on all children. |

Government spending per student is one indicator of the level of resourcing in schools.
It is calculated by comparing the total expenditure by the number of enrolled students.
In most countries spending is not evenly distributed to all levels of education. To
compare spending in different educational levels see also spending per student at
href="/graph/edu_pub_spe_per_stu_sec_lev">secondary and
href="/graph/edu_pub_spe_per_stu_ter_lev">tertiary level.
To gain a better overview of educational resourcing, other resourcing indicators such as
Total expenditure compared to GDP and
href="/graph/edu_pup_rat_sec_lev">pupil teacher ratio should also be consulted. |
