They calculated the total to get the average. 9730/17 gave thier average. |

Nice summary, but I would erase the row with the total. It simply doesn't make any sense. |

According to an estimate India generates waste to the tune of 200 Kgs per person. In the rural belt which comprises 70% of population it is only 100 Kgs. This is because, an average Indian recycles most of its domestic waste. In rural India, bio-composting is the key whereas in urban India : one's waste is other's raw material.I am not only talking of rag pickers but there are inumerable industies which utilises waste from master industries. If China is probed , the same will hold true. Is it not a one step towards harnessing global warming? And USA generates 760 Kgs waste per person! |
