Umm... waste management in the United States is calculated in tons/year. and tons is calculated from pounds. So the units are not obvious. AT ALL!

This link provides more meaningful data (including units and waste over time), however it's in a table - if you want a graph you'll have to make you own!

From the data in the above document, it looks as though the units are kg/capita - although the actual figures don't make that much that sense!

well this is a good graph and all but its missing the units. the US has 720 something municipal waste and per what time span anually? please make this more clear, and state where these results came from (calcuation, source)

You need all data units for the per capita waste per country. Per capita waste ...is it volume? ...is it mass? ...what is the time period... days?...minutes?..weeks?... years? ... Data becomes worse than meaningless without proper context, it becomes dangerous... when data is presented without defining the units used to describe the data....data becomes doo-doo...
