The fetus is not capable of life outside of the womb at the point in gestation at which abortion is legal. As for the claim about god... bit of a problem there, he isn't real. He didn't make the world in 7 days, and he doesn't mind if you abort your unborn babies or not because he isn't real.

LeeJ Moore 27th February 2011	My mom WAS a woman who had been raped. She had desided to keep me. It is no ones fault that she got raped, and she never felt like carrying me was a punishment. She imbrassed it and took responsibility as an American citizen to carry life that held her blood too (me) and i am so very grateful she did. And for some of you who say "o yea and she was probibly stable and had support" that was not the case at all. She was 19, live in a one bedroom apartment on her own and worked a job that paid 8.23 an hour. Her family was across the country in Virginia while she lived in California. My mom is by no means RELIGIOUS but she does have faith. She is a Christian (no die hard)but she never fed into the crap America has been trying to serve. Giving excuses for one anoher to strip freedom to live from another citizen. I would like to say that it isnt a choice, its a child. A child who still deserve the chance and option to live. And may i add, i may not have been "officially a baby" but if i could comprehend the choice people were trying to make for me, i wuld have been screaming for my life. So please, find he decency to scream for the ones who cant.

I can't understand how it is legal. How is it legal to brutally kill an infant but illegal to kill anyone else? If the rule "everyone has a right to do what they want with there lives" is true, then why aren't we all just killing one another? it is the same thing. AAS 21st February 2011	Pro-life people, you got to understand that women usually don't get abortions with the intention to murder their baby. Many people get abortions since they don't have the financial, domestic, or other circumstances to give that child a good life. Nobody would want a child if they can't provide them with everything they need physically and emotionally. Also, women can't just set-up their babies for adoption because the emotional burden is unsurmountable. At three months old the fetus isn't yet a baby nor a developed human being like you and me.

This shows how devious these people are who abuse the law in order to supply abortion on demand. Evidence is easily available. Just ring the "Family Planning Association" or a doctor, tell them you are pregnant with a child you would rather not keep alive, and they will organize an abortion for you - including travel and accommodation! The more I look into what abortion is and its effects on women, the more it disgusts me. I do not condone killing people who do this sort of thing, though. This world is sick.

D Baxley 9th July 2010	Anyone that has a child cannot imagine that child never having come to life. When I see my grand children I cannot imagine their beautiful life having never been. Abortion is one of those selfish things we humans decide to participate in and with regret. The continual guilt the mother feels is there, hidden maybe, but it is there and not matter how the anger is diverted it is still there. We have all sinned, as the saying goes. The Bible tell us the life is in the blood (Lev 17:14). So, when does life begin? When the baby begins to work on its own blood and I believe (?) it is 17 days the baby has its own blood. I'm not sure of the time period but it is very soon after sperm meets the egg. Think of the chicken, the eggs plops out, the henn keeps it warm and the blood system of the baby chick spreads out over the yolk, all by itself. Of course who, other than religious fanatics, listens to the what the Bible has to say. Even then there are those torture souls that would abort a child the day before its brith -- and so it goes. As for me I pray to a God and a Savior to forgive me of my sins, past and present, and hope to stand in our Svior's glory one day along with millions of others giving thanks for the opportunity to live again with everyone sharing int he truth and peace He has promised to bring. This would actually get more consideration than the politicians do before sending troops to their deaths. If a woman is raped and becomes pregnant, should she be allowed to abort or should she have to give birth to a child that would constantly remind her of the terrible ordeal that she went through.
Jacknhoo 24th August 2009	We have only one way to establish the personhood of the unborn and that single way is through the legislature, not the judicial system. The judges hands are somewhat tied, especially now, because of past errors where people somehow believed judges made policy (kind of like Sotamayor has stated she believes). Judges apply the law, supposedly. Who makes the law? Who makes a person a person in our constitutional law? The legislature does...in effect, we do, since our legislature is supposed to be representative of us. We must get Pro-Life persons into office and get this on the ballots and let the people vote on it and make the law...make the constitutional (state and federal) amendments which includes the unborn as a person, just like we did for black persons. What was the reasoning for denying rights to blacks? The answer is personhood...they were some fraction (three fifths, I recall) of a person and not considered a whole person...so, we could treat them as sub-human objects. Well, it disgusts many that this occurred and it disgusts many that it occurs today for the unborn. Just like the sexually deviant are overturning traditional marriage, the Pro-Life need to overturn this legal child murder. This is, beginning with one state constitution and then another, legislate, legislate and legislate! These are simple facts and truths to understand and I believe all politicians know this truth. Think of all the politicians that have publically "claimed" to be pro-life, and then know the extremely few who have ever attempted to establish this so desperately needed and justified and real personhood or even proposed legislation i.e. bills. The politicains who have sat back on their laurels and done nothing while claiming to be Pro-Life are quite dubious indeed - using votes of the pro-life voters to get in office knowing very well there could be little to nothing done on it without state and federal constitutional amendments. Look at the state of California...their constitution has been amended 512 times and not once has the 1.5 million children murdered by their mothers every year in the U.S. alone, played in their priorities...not even evough to state the truth that they know of the requirement and necessity for a constitutional amendment giving these innocent defenseless little boys and girls equal protection...wholly disgusting. And another fact that is disgusting is how the blacks and women can select the sexually deviant to identify and empathize with, regarding civil rights (sexuality is a behavior and there are good and bad behaviors) all the while hatefully denying all and any civil rights to these most innocent and defenseless human persons in the world. Lord, have mercy on us all. In effect what the politicians have done is send the ignorant masses on the false trail of the red herring and the American population has not at all been trained to discern the difference between the truth and the error, regarding how to accomplish personhood. They have done this enjoying the division it provides all the while letting these so-called and self-described "elite" continue in their eugenics and racism and population "control" as recently admitted by Ruth Bader Ginsberg and as has always been the intended function of Planned Parenthood...scrubbing the world of the undesirables and exterminating the human weeds. Rebecca 14th June 2009	Abortion is necessary, sometimes a mother cannot cope with another child, yes in a perfect world a woman would not get pregnant in the first place if she didn't want the child, but accidents happen, and surely it's more morally acceptable to have an abortion than to bring a child into the world know it is going to suffer. There is no God, he is not going to judge you. However if you're going to get all biblical - the commandment 'thou shalt not kill' is for existing life, not potential life. And Christianity is suppost to be a compassionate loving relgion. It is not loving to allow, say a woman who has been raped to carry on with her pregnancy. Abortions are needed on occasions, I do not agree with abortions on demands, or women using it as a contraceptive.

Christians need to renew their minds. We often think the Bible teaches that children are a gift from God. It's a nice thought but I don't read that anywhere. Even pro-life groups expound that idea. And yet, the psalmist says the fruit of the womb is HIS reward. It's not our gift from him, it's HIS reward from him and through us. There is no abortion involved whatsoever. And even when you are not taking oral contraceptives you release an egg when you menstruate every month and it is deposited outside of your body. There have also been countless reports of forced abortions in China. Another reason one must assume they have a high abortion rate is because many people want a boy to carry on the family line.
