July 28th November 2009	To han, the woman that was raped shouldnt blame an innocent child with no voice for her misfortune, the child didnt ask to be concieved. It is true that giving birth would be a reminder, but if a woman kills her baby she is no better than the man who raped her. She will regret it her whole life, and could also die during the process. She could give it up for adoption if she really didnt want it. Just some things to think about.Did you know woman who get abortions sometimes are never again able to have children, or they are born with serious health problems. And the woman could get breast cancer.

If a woman is raped and becomes pregnant, should she be allowed to abort or should she have to give birth to a child that would constantly remind her of the terrible ordeal that she went through.

Even more importantly in regards to abortion, is the fact that those babies are innocent. They are powerless to defend or speak for themselves. Aren't YOU glad your mom didn't kill YOU in the womb? Now, you have the ability to exercise your right to freedom of speech etc...Have some respect, no need to degrade others. Yes, it is their soul--their mind, will and emotions as well as the body that is destroyed--it's their spirit that continues on (with God, in Heaven). There IS such thing as RIGHT and WRONG. Abortion/murder IS WRONG.

ivan (ontario) 21st July 2008	I know these women get scared by abortions, Im not out to make them feel bad but,it is in my opinion the cause of the decsent of the west.(one of them) We just gave the order of Canada to a doctor that fought for abortion rights since the sixties(other recipiants have given thiers back).in my opionon the man is mental for fighting for the cause of death, when the women can give birth,and if they don`t want the child give it to a couple that can`t concieve. But I will agree it is the womens right to choose not to have sex, to make sure the man takes percautions ,(for her own good)to make sure she takes the right precautions. Mark (Canada) 9th July 2008	My heart is torn apart by any hearing of an abortion anywhere. May God have mercy on me for not having done anything yet for such a cause. Christians need to renew their minds. We often think the Bible teaches that children are a gift from God. It's a nice thought but I don't read that anywhere. Even pro-life groups expound that idea. And yet, the psalmist says the fruit of the womb is HIS reward. It's not our gift from him, it's HIS reward from him and through us. Nowhere in the multiplication and raising of a family should we think we are doing this for ourselves. That's where we went wrong. In Canada we celebrate Canada Day on July 1st. Recently the highest honor in the country that could be bestowed upon any civilian was given to Dr. Morgentaler - Canada's equivalent to Kevorkian. What a horrendous thing Canada has done. I am ashamed to be Canadian and wish I could revoke my citizenship and merely be a citizen of the kingdom of heaven.

Religion is not a concious decision, parents and society have more to say than you yourself. It's like language, and different birthplaces mean different religions. Everything that has ever lived and shall ever live will one day die. People will not stop having sex, so use condoms and other that work for most of the time. And no they do not have holes.

Sex without consequences... a devastating lie??? And let us not forget the grand, and Imperial tone of HRH "Monica" as she so authoritatively declares from on high: "Abortion is terminating life, which is murder. Period. So much talk about control and yet we are not in control of our lives. We will be judged by God in the end and "trying to limit the world population" will not suffice as an excuse to extinguishing a soul." Hmmm? I was unaware God needed a mouthpiece, your Majesty, but if you have decided to fill that position anyway, do try and understand at least the basic tenants of your own faith before letting the old blah, blah, blah get the best of you, ok? (Don't worry, I'll explain. And I'll type slowly as I do.) Extinguishing a Soul is not something you, or I, or anyone else reading this are even remotely capable of. Physical bodies yes, perfect Souls nope. So the next time your emotions get the best of you, as you preach to the choir, just take a deep breath, let it out slowly and remember, there are enough anti-abortion nut-cases out here. Let's try not adding ourselves to their ranks.

Who are we to dictate that abortion is "evil" it is no such thing (especially in a variety of cases). And aside from this the number of abortions also includes cases of rape, teenage pregnancy, and people who aren't capable of carrying children. And aside from this for those of you who say they could have cured cancer! Well to this I say they could also be a future drug dealer or pedophile (these odds are much more likely).

Shannon (Washington) 31st December 2007	If any of you actually read any factual information about "chemical contraceptives" which I assume means oral contraceptives, you would know that they prevent an egg from being released from the ovaries or by building up a thick mucus wall at the opening of the cervix to prevent sperm from getting into the uterus to fertilize an egg. There is no abortion involved whatsoever. And even when you are not taking oral contraceptives you release an egg when you menstruate every month and it is deposited outside of your body. Is that abortion? If so, then every woman on earth is has committed abortion several times over since human existence. This information isn't hidden. You should educate yourselves for your own sake.

Abortion is legal, and sexual education (as education itself) is necessary for the individuals to achieve freedom. Because freedom becomes a reality when the person knows his/her options. Hopefully contraception will become free and a right for our next generation, then there will be less need for abortions" First off, thats not good at all. Thats embarassing to be from a country that has that stats. secondly, a lot of forms of contraceptives are abortive. I'm sure those abortions were not counted in this though. Also, making contraceptives a "right" for our children would most likely do the opposite. Abortions would rise. When contraception was introduced, teen pregnancies, etc, increased, not decreased. and when there is a fear and ingnorance of our fertility instead of a respect for it, abortions increase. My daughters will be educated, not just handed a pill to take. I wouldn't want to give my daughter something that could potentially give her a stroke, heart attack, blood clot, weight gain, mood swings...and the list goes on.

It works in three ways - by preventing ovulation, preventing capacitation of the sperm, and, if the previous two fail, by preventing implantation of the embryo after fertilization. Second, abortion is the obvious logical conclusion to contraception. When you use contraception, you at stating that you do not under any circumstance want a child. With that mindset, when the contraception fails, the logical conclusion is to rid yourself of your child by any means possible (ie abortion). For those who think the world is overpopulated: If we were to put the entire world (I assumed around 6 billion people) into the state of Texas, each PERSON (not even family) would have a 1216.4 square foot house. World overpopulated? I think not...

Our current worldwide abortion holocaust is the fruit of contraception: the idea that you can have unbridled sex without consequences. I am a marriage and family therapist and I work with women and men who have been sold the lie that abortion is the "removal of tissue". They suffer greatly. The lie of aboriton requires people to set up a denial system that over time after the abotion causes them multiple mental health and relationship issues. A healed post-abortive woman can speak the truth of abortion like noone else!

The only evil I can think of that can compares those atrocities is abortion in modern society. Shame on Russia, America, China and the rest of Europe and developed Asia I agree with Kayla about the horrors of overpopulation but numerous studies show that education and contraception are much more effective than abortion. The insanity and ignorance of abortion sickens me the most: Why should an Innocent Infant be Butchered at Birth because someone wanted to have a little good time. Abortion makes feel disgusted to belong to the human race.

I think what's horrible and wrong, is not the amount of abortions that are going on, but the amount of unplanned pregnancies and the inability of these families to feel like they can support another child. Tom 27th February 2005	China does not release that kind of information, but considering the one child rule I am sure it is quite high. There have also been countless reports of forced abortions in China. Another reason one must assume they have a high abortion rate is because many people want a boy to carry on the family line. If the ultrasound shows a girl, abort and try again. Disturbing to say the least. I would be willing to bet that if China did release such information, it would be completely outrageous.
Antonio 2nd January 2005	The problem is it doesn't work that way. If you check correlations, which I can no longer do my term expired, you'll find the nations with more abortion are often less free. Russia, of today, has far less freedom than the US of today. Cuba is also listed as having a higher rate than the US and is no doubt a dictatorship. The Bulgarians are fairly free, but among the most unhappy people. Only the Swedes have a higher rate than the US, while being fairly happy and free. As for health Russian women die almost five years earlier than Polish women. Check this site for yourself. Or if you distrust this check the UNDP which states the same thing. (Granted Cuban women live longer than Polish women, but Cuban women do not live as long as Greek women who are listed with a low rate and number of abortions. Or as Maltese women who are forbidden from any abortion) Woman's health concerns a variety of issues. Things like education, low poverty, adequate medicine, maternal health care, etc. That's what matters. The linkage to abortion is minimal at best.
