Aren't these figures from 2002? (I'm looking at the line below the chart where it says: "DEFINITION") If so, of course they will differ from last year's numbers! Maybe they should change the title of this chart because I can see how it can be confusing.

Totally inaccurate stats. They have the U.S. total number of procedures at 90,992, and yet the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's stats show that 11 *million* procedures were performed here last year (2 million surgical). And this doesn't include any reconstructive plastic surgery. Nice to see that their data is off by a factor of 100!

For the United States is the 90,992 per year? or per month?
or from when to when ?

Amount of plastic surgery procedures also depends on country's total population. (Percentage of the population that the number of plastic surgery procedures represent). Higher population therefore higher plastic surgery procedures.

People in the wealthier countries tend to be the only ones who can afford plastic surgery. It's also interesting that the top 5 countries also have the omst unattractive women.

The source of this ranking, a report from International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), is not meant to provide a ranking for "Plastic surgery procedures by country." It's just a stat of plastic surgery procedures conducted by the REGISTERED MEMBERS OF ISAPS, not by every clinic in the listed countries. The number of ISAPS registered clinics is significantly lower than the real total number of clinics in many countries, and so ranking like this is hardly accurate.

These statistics do not represent the work of every plastic surgeon in each country and this is why it is smaller than the numbers presented by National societies of plastic surgery. For example, in the US there are 6,600 members of ASPS, the National plastic surgery society, and only 189 are ISAPS members; In Brazil there are 4,400 members of the SBCP and only 144 are members of ISAPS.

I live in Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua Mexico, I dont believe that the access to sanitation is about 100 percent; I'm part of the medical goverment staff and an important cause of health problems is the lack of access to public health systems.
