Your migration statistics are generally at least five years old. In such a rapidly-fluctuating field outdated figures have relatively little value or interest. |

Adrian - They're probably not foreigners. I would assume that this list only counts ex-patriots and not immigrants. i.e. people who actually hold foreign passports and have home addresses in other countries, not those whose parents did, or who assumed the local nationality.
Countries with relatively small populations but with relatively important international cities wil be high on the list. e.g. All of the top 5.
It also depends how this imformation is gathered, I would suspect that some countries have a high number of unregistered temporary workers and that in a lot of cases it is easy for people from neighbouring countries to pass themselves off as locals.
Luxembourg is a bit of a special case - Belguim, Holland and Germany have a similar effect on it as Australia does on New Zealand. Population also moves quite fluidly throughout the Scandanavian countries as well as, of course, between the two states of the former Czechoslovakia. (more to the Czech Republic thought, since Slovakia consists of three men, a couple of dogs and a pig farm) |

I wonder where Malaysia stands in this. It seems to push foreigners out. For me it looks like a hard place for foreigners to live. Any charts of this region? I want to know what it's about Malaysia that they want foreigners OUT! |
