Men and women are equal. I admit girls rock, but we are equal and should always be. We are not better than men, and men are not better than us. No single sex should be 'in control'. |

@Aaron
I completely agree when you say equal rights means the right to equal punishment as well. Far too many people, for example Kathy below, feel that one sex is better than the other. If we are to be truly equal, then we must not view one sex or the other as inferior. Sexism, against women and men, is a poisonous barrier against equality. And for those of you who argue that women are physically unable to do what men do, what man have you seen that has given birth? And to women who say men are mentally inferior, I beg to differ. Albert Einstein was, in fact, a man. Would you call him unintelligent? |

To the Kathys out there who think that women are superior to men in every way and should be in control I can only ask: why aren't you then?
If you're so superior stop your whingeing and take control. Otherwise, sort out the ironing. |

@Kathy - Let's not go to extremes here. You think women should be in control? You think women are superior in "almost every area" compared to men? Suppose equal rights among men and women finally exists. In physical education classes in high schools, girls would have to do the same amount of push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and other exercises as boys would, and they would be graded equally. Also, equal rights means equal punishments. Women who commit a crime will receive the exact same punishment as a man who committed the same crime. You know those female teachers you hear about that ADMIT to having sex with one of their underage students? Some of them receive no jail time. What do you think if a male high school teacher had sex with one of his underage female students? He'd be going to prison. Anyways, I could sit here and type for hours, but I have a research paper to write. I do agree that women should have equal rights in some aspects of life, but definitely, definitely not all. |

Now that women are being given an equal chance in many nations, we are showing that we can leave males in the dust in almost every area. As a result, I have to agree with everything Kathy said below. She is 100% on target. |

There are many reasons women should have equal rights. There are more women than males now and this gap is getting wider as males have proven to be the weak sex and they die sooner and more often than women. Although more males are born than girls, it does not take long for there to be more girls than males. This along with the fact that women are superior in almost every area indicates that women should have had at least equal rights a long time ago. If anything, it is women who should be in control as it appears that the males have messed things up for far too long. |
