FACTOID # 18: Like living in cities? Guadeloupe, Nauru, Monaco, Singapore, Gibraltar and Bermuda are only nations that are 100% urbanised.

Depopulation is what's happening. You don't believe it, just wait and see. Its no fantasy and it has been talked about for quite a bit.

There are to many people on this planet and something should be done about it, as we will get to a position when the poorest countries will be in a worse situation, then it is now. Its the poorest countries with the biggest birth rates, except for the top four, which are forthcoming super powers, but then India is having handouts for its poor from the UK, which is a joke!!We should educate the poorer countries not to have so many children and stop people in the richer countries from not having so many children, if they cannot afford it. I know this sounds awful, but we cannot keep footing the bill for all these children born into poverty, or people on the welfare state. The world is in financial mess at the moment.
We have to allso stop mass immigration into the UK too, as too many have no skills and are a burden on the welfare state, which is in the process of collapsing as it is. I not against immigration, but lets only let in the people who will contribute with skills and knowledge. We are small country and cannot take anymore people, as we do not have the space, or housing for are own poulance let alone the rest of the world. I know what I have said is harse, but its the reality and sad as it may be. The sicial services are struggling as it is, without adding to it.

Woh! wait a minute i thought that Philippine population in 2015 is 96 840 000 but even its still 2010 Philippine population is nearly 100 000 000 inhabitants. Does this mean that population growth is 4 or 5x faster and the population apocalypes is nearly at hand and population will reach more than 14 trillion in no time?

Finally, an issue that I am passionate about. I have looked for information of this caliber for the last several hours. Your site is greatly appreciated.

China is listed as number one on the list, at 1,392,980 and India is number two at 1,260,370 expected by 20-15... can't you people read? And why argue about statistics, how do you know what the numbers should be? Are you folks experts ????

There is no way that these could be accurate. The world is clearly going to end in 2012, why else would they take the time to make a movie about it ? Like please people, stop thinking of the future, we only have three more years to live, so why not live them well ?

In response to

" How can the US population drop to only 325,723? Did someone forget like three zeros on the end? "

If you actually read you will see that it says
" DEFINITION: (Thousands) Medium-variant projections "

so no they did not forget the 3 zero's. =)

I think if everyone will take a look at the source he used for his information you will see that this was retrieved from the UN.... Has anyone heard of UN Agenda 21? These projected number's are correct!

how is Andorra's population going from 62 thousand to 68 people in 7 yrs???
Chandra (Japan)

The population is not going to reach anywhere close to the projected values. There use to be "strong" effect of women-education and financial independence of women on the birth-rate. There are sufficient evidences of it. These variables are not included in the projection rate, I suppose. Therefore, it is very unlikely that the population will keep growing like now. C'mon, in next 10-15 years, the scene is gonna change completely.

I like it. I think one should look at the regional/ racial population as well.

Reffering to Larry
Just wondering what projection are u reffering to and what made you think China will break up? look at your own problems with kashmier or pakistan, (did i spell them right? sorry if i did), and lets say in case 500 nukes are to be dropped in China and China broke up, I don't think they will take Indian nationalities, or are your saying all those rich countries got nuked too? where do india stand in the world? Your "patriotism" seemed a little unrealistic, or stupid should i say, China weren't like you guys who had history of getting fully clonized, listem to my suggestion my friend, wake up!

I mean this question is a purely apolitical sense.

Taiwan isn't on this list, but it's on other Population statistics lists. Were the numbers incorporated into China's?

I am assuming that 24.5 - 25 million is a reasonable estimate.

Apparently France has already met the 62 million limit in 2005...and I thought the predictions for 2020 put her at 75 millions ?

well...first place for India thats ok but 1,9 billion is too much....and where is China...
Jenn
4th December 2005
I find it surprising that the total population isn't expected to surpass 6.2 billion people in 10 years. I mean, to my knowledge, that's how many people are on the earth now. I would expect the population to be at least 6.5 billion if not more. In addition to China, Canada is not on the list either. In fact, there are(according the UN) 191 countries in total so 28 countries missing from this list.
jonas

Sweden at 8,6 million?
There are nine million now and the population is on a rise.

Oh yeah, no one asked why China was not in the list so I better ask myself...
Give it a rest.
Larry

In 15 years, there will be no more China. China will break up, most of them will take the Indian nationality. Just look at the projection!

Amit Bobade

The figures in this list "Map & Graph: People: Population in 2015" are for year 2050 and not 2015. The heading needs to be corrected.
Josh

Definitely an error, China should be #1 for this ranking I think.
