I think that 29.16% (for Spain) must be due to the conversion from dollars to Euros. Better data at OECD.org

The United States was founded as a taxless Republic. The Framers of the Constitution knew that unlike Europe many early Americans would oppose any tax let alone be able to afford it. Evidence for this is found in the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Merrimack (later Resian Island) that disputes the commoner the right to own specie. Ergo early trade was done entirely by barter, an untaxable form of trade.

Actually, Spanish highest marginal tax rate is 43%, not 29.16%; something easy to contrast in the web of the Spanish Tax Authority. On the other hand, the figure given is, by the way, quite a weird rate by all means and should have raised doubts in the compilers' minds. The problem is that given this kind of errors, the whole site credibility is under question.

America was not intended to ba a democracy, We are a republic. Ben Franklin said that democracy is 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what to eat for dinner. Liberty is a well armed sheep disputing the results.

The US rate tax rate isn't right. Social Security continues to be a hidden tax - 7.5% for the employee + 7.5% for the employer = 15% tax on the income. Therefore the highest US tax rate really is 50%+, making the US 4th highest in the world! The US is like Denmark, an SD country - Social-Democrat. Socialism meets Democracy...
