hi whats difrent between highways and express ways and road ways .why usa has less than high ways in the most countries?

Some of these figures appear to be misleading or even distorted.
How is it that the United States does not show in this ranking?
To those who are not aware, may I remind that the U.S. is the world's 4th largest country in area and boasts one of the most dense road networks. Its expressways, the Interstate network is by far the longest and most comprehensive in the world linking literally every corner in the land.
Finally, it does not make much sense to quote paved road length on a per capita basis, stand-alone. Small territories can have high population densities (Macau) whereas large countries may hold small populations (Australia). In this particular category it would be of considerable interest to know what the road length is to the country's area as well.
