Mizzou545: You are incorrect. We test everyone early. And than we place them in two categories, "advanced" and "behind". Other countries have better education because they wait to test EVERYONE until they are older. We start as soon as they enter school, and based on they're scores from kindergarten, we select the "right group" they belong to. So, they are never able to find their true potential, because we have already labeled that individual as slow. Studies have been done. Teacher treat children different based on that information. Hence, we think someone is slow, we treat them slow. We do not challenge them. And if you don't believe me think of it this way. You are told a child in your neighborhood is a little terror, and hits other children, causes a disturbance, etc. Well, you are going to keep an eye out for that child, aren't you? You have already labeled that child before meeting him and communicating with them personally. It is how our society is. That is how our educational system works, and it really needs to change. |

It surprises me that the US is not included in the list of top countries with divorce per 1000 marriages, when divorce rate here in the US approaches 50%.
Also, where do you get these figures? |

Our original source, The CIA World Factbook, has just been updated to the 15th March version. We've changed our technology so we'll be keeping up to date faster and more often. Look out, we have hundreds of stats from another major source coming soon. |

They are statistics so it is hard to draw unbiased information from them, but there is a lot of data here that is very helpful.
In response to your 10th among countries for murders by firearm, look at some of the countries who are top in murders overall. They banned firearms and still murder people, jamaica is nowhere to be seen on the firearm count, but 3rd in murders. People will kill people regardless of the weapon used and I'm more pleased that we aren't high on the list of murders per capita moreso than displeased for being high on the murder by firearm list. |

Very informative and helpful for students and professionals alike. The categories range from economic to social and general which provide a good overall view of a country and its state. Good job, keep expanding. |

An idea for a stat that I would certainly be interested in is "weather related fatalaties". Tornados, hurricanes and such. I feel it would be an enjoyed search to those preparing to travel or move abroad.
