The 11th Philippine Scout Battalion (11th PS) was formed, in 1901, from various provisional infantry companies, of Philippine Scouts, formed in 1899. The 11th PS was involved in combat at Samar, Mindanao, and Jolo.


In 1917, this battallion was reformed into the 1st Philippine Artillery Regiment.
