Another highlight is the Graduate Program of Genome Science and Technology, which is co-sponsored by the Division of Biology at UT and the Life Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and which trains PhD and MS students at the interface between molecular genetics and computational biology.
Given the often hesitant attitude of beginning students toward experimental sciences, their actual exposure to research, teamwork, and a supportive mentoring environment is likely to have positive results.
