at July 16, 2006 09:45 PM Well, when you don't have a home team (although they are in the same state in this case), there are all kinds of different reasons you might pick a team.
I later found out both of my grandfathers, who died shortly before I was born, were huge Yanks fans, mainly because they were always the team that played on national TV and they had Mickey Mantle, whom people from the midwest (presumably those not in St. Louis) looked at as one of their own.
