This is the full table of the medal count of the 1930 British Empire Games. These rankings sort by the number of gold medals earned by a country. The number of silvers is taken into consideration next and then the number of bronze. If, after the above, countries are still tied, equal ranking is given and they are listed alphabetically. The earliest explicit mention of the present day game - inspired by shinty, bandy and hurling - was in 1527, when the Galway Statutes included 'hokie' (the hurling of ball with sticks or staves) - in a list of prohibited games in Ireland.
In 1930 the game made its debut at the inaugural Games in Hamilton.
He is world record holder in the 48kg bodyweight class, won a gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games, as well as bronzes at Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta in 1996.
