During the last ten years, I have researched on the development of modern architecture in Brazil, and the prerequisites for the construction of Brasilia, the new capital that was built (1956-1960).
This study is an evaluation of modern architecture in Brazil, from its beginning in a post-colonial context with Costa, Warchavchik, and Levi to the buildings by Reidy, Niemeyer, and Artigas.
One area of focus will be on the diversification of styles and architectural languages that have been observed in my earlier regional research efforts.
