Race Report
The first time the manufacturer teams from Mercedes Benz and Auto Union had competed in Britain came as a shock to the locals as the watched the hugely powerful and thunderous German cars wipe the floor with the native entrants. Lang lead the first few laps but had to retire with a broken damper. The lead changed hands several times between von Brauchitsch, Rosemeyer and Caracciola, whilst leading for a second time von Brauchitsch suffered a puncture and Rosemeyer was back in front and stayed there to take a well earned victory.
