It was the eighth European Football Championship, which is held every four years and supported by UEFA. The final tournament took place between June 10 and June 25, 1988. West Germany was the informal but almost universally used name for the Federal Republic of Germany from 1949 until 1990, during which years the Federal Republic did not yet include East Germany. ...
