The 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the third edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North and Central America (CONCACAF).


The tournament went back to the United States and California; the games were hosted by Los Angeles, San Diego, and Brazil, who sent their Under-23 side. Mexico won their second straight Gold Cup, beating the Brazilians 2-0 in the final.

After the USA claimed its first CONCACAF Gold Cup™ crown in over 10 years by topping Costa Rica in the 2002 finals at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Mexico returned to the top of the Confederation with their fourth crown in 2003 with 1:0 win over Brazil in the final at the Estadio Azteca.
