The Iranian officials were in Iraq at the invitation of Iraq's president, Jalal Talibani, as part of an agreement to improve security between the two countries. It is not clear why they were detained, as no offical record or cite is available. Jalal Talabani (in Kurdish:ﺟﻪﻻﻝ ﺗﺎﻟﻪﺑﺎﻧﻰ /Celal Talebanî )(in Arabic: جلال طالباني: jalâl tâlabânî) (born 1933), Iraqi politician, was named President of Iraq on April 6, 2005 by the Iraqi National Assembly. ...
