The 2008 NASCAR Nextel Cup season is scheduled to begin on Saturday, February 9th with the annual Bud Shootout at Daytona International Speedway, followed the following day by pole qualifying for the 2008 Daytona 500, which will celebarte its 50th running on February 18. The season will continue with the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup begining in mid-September of that year and concluding with the Ford 400 sometime in November of 2008.
