The deadline for the submission of bids to host the 2016 Summer Olympics (formally known as Games of the XXXI Olympiad) by the national Olympic committees (NOCs) is scheduled to 2007-09-13 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It will start a lengthy and intensive bidding process that will finish with the election of the 2016 Games host city, at the 121st IOC Session in Copenhagen, Denmark in October 2, 2009.
